Wild Wisdom Wool Pellets in Action: Clackamas Community College
A gardening professionals’ group maintains a large garden plot at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Oregon and we are honored to share that Wild Wisdom Wool Pellets are being used throughout the garden plot. Wool pellets were applied in their garden plot for benefits including; water conserving mulch, fertilizing, and as a slug and snail deterrent. We were invited to their garden to see firsthand the pellets in action and to share a tragedy turned triumph story that occurred in their garden plot.
During the very wet Westen Oregon winter, part of their garden area sustained intensive damage before planting. A large truck backed into their plot and got very stuck. The truck made deep ruts, and the soil was heavily compacted. Wool pellets were used as a soil amendment when rehabilitation of the damaged garden area was underway. Now, the recently damaged garden area is reported as the strongest and healthiest part of the garden. Credit is given in full by the gardening professionals group to wool pellets. We were shown the results of wool pellets used as a multiple benefit soil amendment. We were told about and shown the results of using wool pellets to repair and convert the heavily compacted clay soil into the healthiest and most productive part of their garden, yay!
