Mossygoat Farm is now Wild Wisdom Wool Pellet Co.
Hello Friends,
We have some exciting news to share with you! Our website name has been changed to Wild Wisdom Wool Pellet Co. at wildwisdomwool.com. We are still Mossygoat Farm and are the same people holding the same values that Mossygoat Farm has always represented: environmental sustainability, regenerative agriculture, and conservation.
In September of 2024 we started offering premium Wool Pellets for Plants and in January 2025 we started offering custom milling of wool into pellets as well as llama and alpaca fiber pellets. Wild Wisdom Wool Pellet Co. reflects the new direction of our farm. On our website and social media, you can see that we are still Mossygoat Farm and shall remain so. Our name change reflects the continuing vision we have for our farm as well as our new product line and service.
Wool is a sustainable natural resource that has fallen on hard times. That is, until now. Sheep are sheared once or twice a year to keep them healthy and happy, yet many people are shocked to learn that this wool often goes to waste. With modern materials used in the garment and textile industry, the commercial demand for wool is gone. Wool pellets help solve this problem of what to do with wool as well as providing a water conserving soil amendment and fertilizer that gardeners can trust. Wild Wisdom Wool pellets are not made in a factory from foreign chemicals. They are instead 100% natural and organic made here, at Mossygoat Farm, using wool from vetted family farms in the surrounding area.
Using wool pellets in the garden creates a win/win situation for the sheep, family farmers, gardeners, and most importantly, the Earth. Wool pellets hold 3x their weight in water, releasing it to the soil slowly, creating a huge reduction in water usage. They can also hold water in the soil in wet environments preventing soggy roots. Wool pellets are also a sustainable replacement for peat in seed starting and container gardening. While peat bogs take hundreds of years to form: sheep can grow a whole new coat of wool to shear in just six months. Many peat alternatives, such as coco fiber, although sustainable, have to be shipped vast distances while wool can be grown near local communities. Wool pellets meet the National Organic Program requirements for organic production as well as meeting religious requirements of being free of blood meal, bone meal, or feces.
We proudly introduce Wild Wisdom Wool Pellet Co. and look forward to a bright future helping sheep owners, gardeners, and plant lovers alike.
